Covid Safe Policy

We are passionate about improving your health and being part of your health journey.

Here at Tamar Chiropractic & Allied Health, our patients, our team and our communities’ health and safety are our top priority. As Tasmania’s borders reopened Wednesday 15th December, we also have to be very clear on our policies and procedures. Please help us to keep the risk of covid-19 transmission low and try to keep everyone healthy.

Our Covid Safe Patient Policy – How You can Help Us

  • As per the state government mandate effective 21/12/21, all patients and staff are still required to wear masks whilst in our practices unless you have a medical exemption.
  • Please wash your hands with soap prior to entering and before you leave our building. This is the most effective way to minimise spreading any viral infection. We will also have hand sanitisers available in all our rooms and reception area for your use.
  • Please STAY AT HOME if you are unwell or have been identified as a close contact with a Covid positive or potential covid positive person.
  • If you have any symptoms of COVID-19 which include: fever (or signs of fever e.g. chills, night sweats), cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath or loss of taste or smell, please contact us immediately on 6331 3411 to discuss or reschedule your appointment.

Our Covid Safe Team Policy – How our team will help you

  • Our staff may ask you to confirm the following:
      • That you have not returned to Australia from overseas in the last 14 days.
      • That you have not had a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath or other cold/flu-like symptoms in the last 72 hours.
      • That you have not been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
      • That you have not recently been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The following information is also available on our government’s website by visiting: https://www.coronavirus.tas.gov.au/business-and-employees/Employers

  • We have all completed government approved Infection Control training modules specific for the allied health industry.
  • Our team members are required to stay at home if they are unwell and must return a negative covid test prior to returning to work.
  • Cleaning schedules have been implemented with increased sanitising of common areas, thorough cleaning of rooms between patients with approved Covid-19 disinfectants and cleaning products.
  • In the event of a Covid positive patient attending the practice, we may have to temporarily close for deep cleaning and we therefore may have to reschedule your appointment. If this needs to happen, our team will provide you with the most notice possible and reschedule as soon as possible.

We will be guided by the Government as the precautions that are required for health services and will let you know if our policy changes as the situation evolves after the 15th of December.

We understand that Covid has been a trying time for everyone and we are all doing our best to ensure your health, the health of our staff and also the community.

Thank you so much for your patience and assistance. Please feel free to contact us if you require any clarification to our policy.

Yours in health,

Tamar Chiropractic
