Dr Roberto de Souza Chiropractor and Principal at Tamar Chiropractic/Functional and Myofascial Dry Needling

Roberto de Souza

Dr Roberto de Souza graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2001. He also received a Master’s degree in Health Education and Promotion and a post-graduate certificate in Clinical Chiropractic Paediatrics from New Zealand College of Chiropractic. Roberto is currently undertaking further post-graduate studies in Integrative and Functional Medicine. He has just recently received a Clinical Excellence Award and some of his research publication also was awarded and recognised on a national and international level. He has also pursued further training in myofascial and functional dry needling.

He is the principal of Tamar Chiropractic as well as the owner and director of Deloraine Chiropractic.

He is married to Daniela and they have two sons, Christian and Jon Victor. Roberto and Daniela have participated as volunteers on several of the Clinic Abroad trips coordinated by Palmer College of Chiropractic to the Fiji Islands, Brazil and Bolivia.

Roberto is a very passionate motivational speaker on natural health and lifestyle and has spoken at various engagements around the world. Roberto loves to cook and spend time with his family at home and around the beaches of Tasmania.

Dr Brett Crawford Chiropractor

Brett Crawford

Dr. Brett Crawford graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa with his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree. He has also received a Bachelors of Science degree from Palmer College.

Brett has done clinical work and training at Hagen Chiropractic Clinic in Bettendorf, Iowa, as well as undertaken the Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner course at Palmer while in his Chiropractic studies. He has provided Chiropractic care with Palmer College on their clinic abroad program in Fiji.

Brett arrived in Tasmania in 2010 and is now married to a Launceston native, the lovely Jane. They have two beautiful children, Grace and Harrison. Some of his favourite hobbies are spending time on the golf course, traveling and cooking.

Dr Rick MontgomeryChiropractor

Dr Rick Montgomery

Dr Rick Montgomery pursued undergraduate studies in Pre-Medicine, Nursing and Pre-Chiropractic at Murray State University. He graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, USA. Upon graduation, Rick moved to Evansville, Indiana and opened Montgomery Chiropractic Wellness Center, where he worked for eight years.

He has been on a mission to spread the message of healing naturally through chiropractic. He has appeared on local television, been a columnist for local publications, was interviewed for a book on business success, and hosted the weekly radio program “Adjust Your Thinking”. In addition, he speaks to groups, businesses, and churches around the area on health and wellness.

Rick and his wife Hannah visited Tasmania 4 years ago and fell in love with the natural beauty of our island state.

Rick has a heart to serve others and a passion for missions work. He and his oldest son, Hunter, traveled to Haiti recently to serve at an orphanage. He has also been part of a volunteer group made up of chiropractors and students who set up chiropractic clinics in the Amazon State of Brazil and provided care for thousands of people. He has a wealth of experience in taking care of people of all ages and from all walks of life, from babies and infants to the elderly. He also has special training in helping women who are pregnant.

Dr Amos Fong Chiropractor/Dry Needling

Dr Amos

Dr Amos has been practicing as a chiropractor in Sydney where he graduated from Macquarie University with a Masters of Chiropractic. Amos grew up in Singapore and served the national service before moving to Sydney for his chiropractic education.

Amos has also completed further studies into Sports Chiropractic and is now an Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (ICCSP) done through The International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS). He has a big love for soccer but thoroughly enjoys playing or watching any form of sports altogether!

He is a strong advocate for a work life balance. He loves the outdoors, bush walking, hiking, camping and moving to Tasmania with his wife means that there is a whole new world for him to explore.

Jaclyn Harris Naturopath

Jaclyn Harris

Jaclyn is a Naturopath who began by specialising in fertility on the Gold Coast after she graduated with Bachelor of Naturopathy in 2003. Jaclyn moved to Dubai to help in the establishment of one of the region’s leading Wellness facilities, working with patients from all around the world reach optimal health.

In the last few years, Jaclyn has created solutions for her patients using Naturopathic care deeply embedded with self-care strategies. Jaclyn has been helping her patients move from feeling physically and emotionally overwhelmed to helping them create the health, happiness and life that they long for.

Kieran Fisher Natural Therapist

Kieran Fisher

Kieran completed his Pharmacy Degree at the University of Tasmania in 1980. His special interest is alternative or more traditional medicine. This area of primary healthcare is receiving more attention as our current health system buckles under the pressure of a reactive treatment based approach. He has actively pursued this over the past twenty years with talks, clinics, and establishing a comprehensive practitioner range and network.

Kieran and his partner Tina have five children (4 girls and a boy) and enjoy the friendly, relaxed lifestyle that Launceston provides.

Massage Therapists

Amanda Irving Remedial Massage Therapist

Amanda Irving

Amanda was educated in Launceston and Melbourne, and currently lives with her husband and three children in Launceston. She has an interest in self-massage techniques, and is an instructor for Massage in Schools Program. In March 2011 she participated in a massage workshop for arthritis sufferers, in particular those about to undergo, or recover from, a knee reconstruction.

When not at work, Amanda likes to cycle with her family and browse the real estate guide.

Fred Wesley Remedial Massage Therapist

Fred Wesley

Laurence (Fred) Wesley has been working at the Tamar Chiropractic clinic since 2009. Fred holds a Diploma in Remedial Massage and is a Member of the Australian Association of Massage Therapists, and an associate Member of Massage Therapist Society of Australia. He continues to update his qualifications, and offers the very best care to his clients.

Fred is married with two adult children, and enjoys family camping holidays, and photography.

Geoff Baldock Remedial Massage Therapist

Geoff Baldock

Having completed his Cert. IV course in Massage Therapy in 1994, Geoff then studied Deep Muscle Therapy in 1995, choosing to specialise in Remedial and Deep Tissue Massage Therapy from then on. He has enjoyed pleasing results in helping clients reduce pain and improve their overall health outcomes since that time.

After 17 years in the Massage Therapy industry, he remains as enthusiastic and excited as he ever was at the beginning of his career in this beneficial health modality.

Merv Davis Massage Therapist

Merv Davis

Merv has a diploma of Remedial Massage from the Australian College of Massage, graduating in June 2013. He is enjoying helping people get relief from pain and discomfort. Originally from Kangaroo Island, South Australia, he has been involved in a number of different occupations, including mission work in France and Chad, Africa, and more recently working with the Launceston City Mission.

Merv and his wife Mia (who is an RN and originally from Sweden), have a passion to see people well through good nutrition. Merv and Mia have three adult children and they very much enjoy living in Launceston.

Louise Pearson Practitioner Assistant/Practice Manager

Louise Pearson

Louise joined the team at Tamar Chiropractic in 2009 as a Chiropractic Assistant and has enjoyed watching the practice grow as well as fostering new friendships with the clients. She has now been appointed as the new practice manager at Tamar Chiropractic & Allied Health. She has a certificate IV in Business Administration and before joining Tamar Chiropractic enjoyed success in running a hospitality business for ten years in partnership with her husband Andrew.

Louise and Andrew have two daughters, Maddi and Alex, and all enjoy holidaying in the sun.

Tania Lockhart Receptionist and Practitioner Assistant

Tania Stevenson

Tania has loved experiencing the many changes and growth of Tamar Chiropractic & Allied Health since joining the team in 2010. She enjoys helping both staff and patients in any way she can.

Tania’s great passion of cooking is well received and appreciated by her 3 adult children and 2 adored grandchildren along with her partner, Geoff.

Together, her and Geoff enjoy travelling to new parts of Australia and walking their very spoilt Staffie, along with spending time at home in their garden or by the seaside on our East Coast at Coles Bay where Tania loves to soak up our glorious sunshine while reading or walking our beautiful beaches.

Marion Perry Receptionist and Practitioner Assistant

Marion Perry

Marion was born in Collie, Western Australia. She lived in London for 5 years working in administration for a pharmaceutical company. She moved to Tasmania upon her return in 1998. She moved to White Cliffs (Outback NSW) in 2000 to work in an underground B&B for 4 years. She moved back to Tasmania in 2004 which is when she started working at Tamar and Deloraine Chiropractic.

Marion has done Bunjee jumping, white water rafting and Canyoning in Switzerland. Loves living the quiet life in beautiful Westbury. She loves a good book and a good laugh.

Julie Jones Receptionist and Practitioner Assistant

Julie Jones

Prior to joining Tamar Chiropractic, Julie was a full time mother raising her two children Sophie and Lachlan. She has been married for nearly 20 years to her husband Graeme.

Julie has had experience in banking and with small business book keeping. She loves to travel overseas with her family and enjoys walking, and tending her garden.

Hannah Montgomery Receptionist and Practitioner Assistant

Hannah Montgomery

Hannah recently moved to Tasmania from the United States and is the proud mum of four wonderful children. Hannah has several family members who are chiropractors and has worked as an office manager in a chiropractic office.

Some of her passions include helping young mothers and educating women about breastfeeding and natural childbirth. She is currently enjoying the beautiful scenery, organic produce, laid back lifestyle, and the wonderful people she has found in Tasmania.

Sonia Griffiths

Sonia joined the Tamar Chiropractic team in 2014, after spending 10 years running a successful cake decorating business.

She is married to Scott, and they have three sons, Kyran, Kalan and Koby. She enjoys reading, scuba diving with Scott, and family 4wd/camping trips

Sarah Davis

Sarah joined the staff at Tamar Chiropractic in early 2016 as the new Administrative Assistant. She enjoys the admin side of the work, finding satisfaction in problem solving.

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys spending time with friends, exercising and practicing her ukulele.

Margo Spiller

Margo Spiller joined to team at Tamar Chiropractic in March 2016. Before that she worked at the Examiner Newspaper for many years.

Margo is married to Brian and loves being a mother to her 2 sons, Simon and Jacob. The family enjoy being part of the Riverbank Christian Church where they attend regularly. They love to go camping and traveling where Margo enjoys taking lots of photos and also catching up with family and friends.

Tracey Mazengarb

Prior to joining the Tamar Chiropractic Team in November 2017, Tracey worked in the customer service industry, in both retail and hospitality.

She has one adult son and two grandchildren along with her partner, Aldo. Together Tracey and Aldo enjoy travelling overseas, discovering new cultures and cuisines.

When at home she likes to travel to the East Coast and walk the pristine beaches that Tasmania has to offer. In her spare time she also enjoys going to the gym and spending time with family and friends.

Daniela Martins e Souza Director and Secretary

Daniela Martins e Souza

Daniela Martins e Souza graduated from the Institute of Therapeutic Massage & Wellness in Davenport, Iowa, USA in 1999. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at the ITMW clinic and spa for two years before moving to Tasmania. Daniela also works as a Remedial Massage Therapist at Tamar Chiropractic and provides Remedial and Relaxation modalities.

She is a busy mother of two boys and loves to be involved in her sons’ school community. She also enjoys cooking, walking and reading.

Sebastiao Martins Director of Tamar Chiropractic

Sebastiao Martins

Sebastiao Martins graduated from the Catholic University of Goias in Brazil in 1978 with a Bachelor of Accounting sciences. He has had extensive experience in retail and business management throughout his career. He also served as the CEO of COOPERJOV (Cooperative of Farmers and Graziers of Joviania, Brazil) right before migrating to Tasmania.

He oversees the management of Tamar Chiropractic and enjoys playing with his grandchildren and gardening.

Ana Maria Martins Administrative Assistant

Ana Maria Martins

Ana Maria Martins works with the directors doing various administrative tasks. She also served as director along with her husband Sebastiao in various business ventures in Brazil before migrating to Tasmania.

She has four children and enjoys cooking and learning about nutrition.
